Weather: sunny, later a little cloudy
Song of the day: Coldplay – Speed of sound
The day starts at 4 am. We're getting up and drive to the airport. Besides being tired we are utterly (at least me utterly) excited and a little nervous. This is going to be my first time in London, my first visit to an English-speaking country anyway - the language with that immense power on me and my life. The flight itself is the first adventure: what a great feeling when the plane gets up. Seeing the small towns from above (at night) is like watching a Christmas market from above. Darkness and lots of tiny lights.
Arriving at Stansted Airport we take the 10Pounds-bus to London Baker Street. Everyone seems to sleep but me, of course: I just can't take my eyes off the countryside, of the traditional English cottages, the far green land...
The hostel 639 where we are going to spend the following 4 nights we find a little strange at first, but as soon as the big man with the long blonde hair has cleaned it, we're quite satisfied.
Sainsbury’s is our first and very last super market we can buy anything we need. We are going to Picadilly Circus and walk straight on to Leicaster Square where we have our very first traditional (haha) lunch. In the afternoon we are walking down the ‘enchanted’ Oxford Street. It gets dark by 4 pm already, so we see those 1000 small shops and stores in their Christmas night beauty. It in fact is ‘enchanted’. And the stores... gorgeous.
I’m not ashamed of telling you that we are absolutely done by 8pm. We go straight to our hostel and into our very comfortable (haha) beds in our big (haha) room. But at least this comfortable small room keeps us warm and creates a close atmosphere.

Indeed, it is.
One year ago, exactly. That's why there will be only one story a day. (unfortunately only with the pictures I've made :)
