Hello guys,
I've just read a few pages to myself and this is just... - if you only have an hour or less, how are your listeners supposed to fall in love with the story? Ok, maybe that is exactly the point - what makes the whole thing tell everyone whether I'm any good or not - or the book.
What I'm doing now is cutting, cutting and cutting trying to keep the coherence, so that everyone understands.
Guess what! Last week I dreamed this:
I started reading and after 15 minutes everyone was gone. The people thought I had finished. 15 minutes were enough for them. After 15 minutes they knew that they did not want any more.
Pathetic, isn't it?
I suppose it's just the nervousness or whatever you call this thing that makes you shake, lie awake for hours thinking about the reading more than about your exams. How crazy is this?
And reading Nicholas Sparks now makes me think: I have to learn so much more. It's not about time, it's about commitment. I think I lack both - but more the latter.
Nevermind. I'll go get some more practise in the hopes I might control my speed and my commitment during reading. As though I were alone. Or with my protagonists only.
My oh my.
Good-bye.
